Advantages: Great banking, efficient and keeps my money safe

Disadvantages: charges can be a bit high

I have been with the abbey since I was 11 years old and I think they are great the staff in the bank are helpful and the telephone service is great I have even started e-banking which is made very easy.

My children have their trust fund accounts with abbey and also savings acount and my partner has recently changed due to problems with HSBC.

I have an overdraft on my acount which the majority of the time I am never out of but the charges are pennies really so I cant complain. If I do go over my overdraft which is usually due to companies taking their direct debits way before they are supposed to then these charges do get a bit exstortionate but that is not abbeys fault that my account has gone overdrawn so I do contact the other companies to have a work about the day they are supposed to take their money and tell them they have to pay that charge because my agreement with them is not to take it early. On some occasions this will work and I will get the charges paid for.

It takes 10 mins to set up an account 3 days for the pin number to come through and 7 to 10 days for the card to come through fast and efficient. If you have to phone them about anything you do not have to wait on hold for someone to answer and on some occasions you are able to find out the infomation that you need by the automated service. The people on the phone are easy to understand and will explain anything you need to know in detail and will explain it over and over again to you if you do not understand it.

So far from what I have used of the E-bankin it is great I can check my account and transfer money easily due to it is not very often I can get to my bank it is not very local and there are no Abbey cash machines apart from at my bank close to me.

I have never had a problem with my bank and they offer great advice and services I would recomend this to anyone.
