I have been banking with abbey since i was a child and my parents set me up an account and i can honestly say that their customer service and there charges are ridiculous, i.e. i ordered some maternity pants online and they payment went through and it even showed on my mini statement so i took the rest of my money out to find that it hadn't gone through and it was an error on abbeys side. because i had unsufficient funds i was charged by abbey once for not having funds and again for being in an unauthorised oberdraft, even though abbey admitted fault i still had to pay the charges. They have also sent me about 3 cards when i never even asked for one. You can't understand anyone on the customer services team and they don't do what you ask i.e. i asked to cancel an account and they sent me another card instead.

I can honestly say that abbey are not a good bank what so ever and i hope that this new company santander will turn it around.
