Advantages: easy to bank with them, no hassle, good service

Disadvantages: none

My husband and I joined the Abbey National about 7 years ago once we got a mortgage with them. We wouldnt consider going anywhere else.

Prior to them we both banked at Barclays and simply found them unhelpful and well basically a pain.

The Abbey National have been brilliant especially whilst I was on maternity twice and money was particularly short. They agreed to a slightly higher overdraft during that period of time without any problems at all. We do go overdrawn occasionally but they usually waver the amount that goes over and charge the second.

Whenever I have gone into the branch they are more than happy to help and very helpful. There are alot of the bank machines about and there is no problem getting money from them - some bank machines always seemed to be empty.

We also have our mortgage with them and got a very good deal that ties us in for 5years. One word of warning I think you have to have your buildings insurance with them for the first year - do change it after this as it is alot cheaper elsewhere.

Overall an excellent service with more than helpful staff and customer service.
