We've banked with Abbey National for nine years and have never had any problems at all. I also use their Internet Banking site which I find invaluable for finding a quick balance, or checking a statement. Plus you can arrange bill payments and move money between accounts - great if you've got a saving account with them aswell. Even if you don't have a computer, you can still use their telephone banking to find out your balance or check the last 10 transactions on your account. Their telephone staff are always helpful. Quite simply one of the simplest services online today... Now they have spent time, effort and money in upgrading the service it's a simplistic experince for all that come and play. I work for a major online organisation and so I spent 8-10 hours a day online (seriously!) and I remember the world before internet banking... long queues, only able to visit the branch on Saturdays due to work, 15 different forms to withdraw 1p, so on and so forth... I used to use Abbey National's online banking very successfully. Now I can't easily. It frequently fails to allow me to log in or open pages. I am a long-standing Abbey customer and they were my first online banking choice. The site worked pretty well. I'd have given it four stars. That is, until the very recent redesign. Amid non-loading pages, it took me three days to work out a way to log in to get at my money, which was bad news as bills needed to be paid urgently.
