Disadvantages: Customer service, inability to action any requests, inefficient, poorly trained staff
Avoid A&L commercial bank. I am shocked that a bank can be THAT BAD. They do not deserve your business, do not give it to them. I have moved my elsewhere at great inconvenience, yet I could not stomach dealing with these people any more. The reasons are
- their customer service is appalling, disgraceful. I cannot stress this enough to you
- the most simple of transactions involves having to fax or write a letter to them - they make your life so difficult, and pay no heed to it
- requests have been frequently ignored i.e. simply not carried out. In my case, this involves the following requests, all on different dates - to replace lost cards, to cancel a direct debit, to cancel another direct debit (yes... twice they have failed to do this), to transfer money. Most annoyingly, when I have tried to get these issues sorted out, I have requested to speak with a manager as my frustration at being simply ignored became too much. I rang in 3 consecutive days, and never once received a call back. They are a disgrace.
- their website is seriously the most complicated and antiquated website I have ever come across, and I have accounts with 3 different banks. I have sent (constructive) feedback to them on this point, and this was not acknowledged and clearly they paid no heed as it is as ridiculous as ever now I believe
- the staff at the 'call centre' are unhelpful, have very bad attitudes/chips on their shoulders, they are defensive and they clearly have not been trained to deal with people running business as they fail to understand and carry out the most basic of requests. I could almost forgive this if their attitude was not so careless and clearly they don;t give a monkey about the people they are employed to deal with
- All the above mean I have wasted so much time and energy. I am spending too much time writing this review, yet I feel so strongly about this disgraceful bank that I need to let other un-suspecting small business know - avoid A&L, I warn you.
Summary: Avoid this bank, they will make your working life a misery, They do not deserve your business
