Advantages: High Interest rate and £100 incentive for switching

Disadvantages: VERY poor customer service team, slow transaction time online

Having read the reviews on this so far it does not surprise me to hear that I am not alone on this one. The Alliance and Leicester is a bank that I thought always sounded professional and very good. I have to say I have had anything but this!

I applied for the Premier Direct Current Account in August and it is only now that everything is being sorted. I cannot believe how long it has taken me to sort this thing out! Then they were going to shut my bank account with nationwide without telling me! Tut tut! Anyway to cut a long story short, after numerous calls to the rubbish customer service line and emails everything seems to of calmed down - however I have still not received the £100 for joining them.

Overall the poor customer service of this bank is enough to put me off ever banking with them again. What is particularly bad is their online banking, that should never be trusted! It always takes a few days for the money to be processed/debited. Either way - not good. I will be changing soon from this bank - not very impressed.

Summary: Overall very unimpressed, poor service and not friendly staff
