A&L must be the most backward bank in the country, further more they have lied to me on two occasions. I lost my debit card, had to jump through hoops to report it such becuase they wouldnt process it without my seven digit number and five digit internet number. Funny I didnt have these as was on a night out...
As I was going on holiday five days later I asked for a swift process of a new card, they said they would despatch one next day and deliver it by next day delivery - SMS couriers. I took a day off work to cover the very helpful 8am to 8pm delivery window - nothing arrived. Turns out they didnt use the courier but used normal recorded delivery. Becuase I rang to queery that they cancelled that new card and ordered another one! That was apparently sent on monday, tuesday, thursday or the follwoing monday depending on who you speak to. Then either by courier, normal mail, special or recorded deliery, again depending on what Pinochio is on the phone. Three and half weeks later still no debit card. So I asked if they could deliver to branch as I know other banks will do. Only in exceptional circumsatnces they said. This is one of those I said! So as they tried to sort it out, I heard the operator say "got a right one here" and then cut me off. So I rang again and very patiently went though everything again. They told my under no circumstances could they deliver to branch despite being told they could.

Never trust anything that A&L say, it seems becuase you get good interest on your account they think they can treat you with utter contempt
