Good introductory offers, but beyond that, they won't go the extra mile to help you (Alliance & Leicester)

Advantages: Good introductory rates Disadvantages: Impersonal, inflexible and a bit disorganised in branch Alliance and Leicester are funny ones. I signed up for their current account a couple of years ago because they had a great rate on interest, and there was a £1000 free overdraft...but since that introductory stuff ended, I haven't found them particularly brilliant - especially since I went to apply for a credit card with them, and then the woman in branch lost my forms, meaning I nearly lost a deposit on a hire car I'd booked for a holiday at Christmas! having said that, they're not that bad - compared to Abbey (who are just totally impersonal and useless) they do ensure that their communications to me have an element of friendliness, and I suppose I am offered some fairly relevant deals on financial products. However, I am looking to change banks soon, as apart from the introductory offer, there's not much going for A&L. They wouldn't even arrange a free overdraft for me for 1 month. Just intractable. Not very flexible or accommodating. It's not good enough these days really, is it? Summary: I'll be changing banks soon... |
