Disadvantages: EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY THE SLOW ONLINE BANKING

I am absolutely disgusted with Alliance & Leicester. We were fed up with the astronomical overdraft charges of HSBC and were enticed by the £100 incentive to open a a and l account - BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!!! The DD switch over is supposed to be pain free - WHATEVER!!!! We have had soooo many DD's recall - at a charge of £25 each time - even when we had enough money in the account to cover the DD's!!! They recalled for no reason what so ever!!!!! The online banking is a disgrace - it is SO SLOW! AT least HSBC's online banking is instant. You can transfer money between your accounts (eg transfer money from current account to joint account) and this will show instantly. Not the case with a and l - it takes DAYS - yes DAYS to show on your online summary - I am so sick of them - when you call customer services you get mocked by the advisors who are extremely unhelpful and each one tells you something different when you are asking the same question. I would STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCAM OF A BANK. I am so angry - switching back to HSBC right now!
