Interesting service!?! (Alliance & Leicester)

Advantages: Great rates, and prompt service Disadvantages: Customer service I felt was poor, as was staff training
Allience and Leister - when I was aranging my account with them (Premier 21 current account), the great rate I was offered was 10%, obviously this was brilliant. The staff at the bank were helpful and at the time I thought well informed, I had taken my father along as he works for Barclays but could not find a rate close to what I was promised but really there was no need. The staff had said that if I had known some other people who wanted the account I could recommend a friend - so I did, my brother. Then a week or so later I recieved a letter for them saying that the recomend a friend offer wasn't valid as I was under 21! I thought this was a bit stupid, seeming as I was obviously under 21 to be able to open the premier 21 account, and that all the staff at the bank had thought I would have qualified. Eventually, after several letters, I recieved the correct thankyou gift for recommending my brother - but I felt that it was a bit late, and in all honesty I was disapointed at the lack of staff training. Summary: Depends whether you want good service or good rates, but I like Allience and Leister despite above. |
