There was absolutely no reason for me to get an overdraft, I was told there would be no fees and boy was that a costly lie, at my expense. Give this lot a miss too. I left Northern Bank for them, now I want to leave BOI too. If you know a good bank in Northern Ireland please tell me. ... more |

Four years ago, a bit strapped for cash I went into my bank for a two hundred pound loan. The girl at the till suggested that instead of getting a two hundred pound loan, I get a three hundred pound overdraft. This turned out to be very bad advice and consequently very costly. By now the two hundred pound loan would have been paid back. Unfortunately not, and every three months for the last four years I have had to pay approximately £30 month on fees and £22 interest, approximately £800.
