I used Barclays Online Money Transfer service on Barclays.in, and it was great. The service is quick, costs far less than a wire transfer and there was no hassle to visit a branch!

There was no fee for my transfers to India and the exchange rates were fantastic as compared to other banks, MSBs or other sites.

I checked up my account in India and the money was there in a days time. Oh, and I did get an email comfirming the credits too.

Overall, this was just what I needed. Though there is a seperate registration which one needs to go through on the www.barclays.in site under 'Self Banking'. But, you can send a remittance right after that, so there is no delay. You can also check on the prevailing exchange rates on the site itself.

And need I mention that you need to be a Barclays Bank customer first.
