My barclays account was first setup for me by my mother when i was just 10 years old, obviously young and just being told that didn't bother me as long as i got a happy meal afterwards.

12 years later, barclays are the bane of my life, I started working at 16 and it was fine a standard account for a minor, when I turned 18 I went into the bank to talk about what account to take out as I was earning reasonable wage. To be fair she seemed very helpul and seemed to know what she was talking about.

Just like many banks they advised me that if I didn't start getting credit then I would definitely NEVER get a mortgage as I would have a low credit score.
Within 30 mins I went from no debt to £500 overdraft, being young and stupid I thought that was great, I also decided to get credit cards and then at 20 decided to get a loan which barclays had "pre-approved" Online, I rang them up and it was shoved down my throat to get ppi.

Now I'm not blaming barclays for my being in debt as that was my stupid fault, however I am blaming them for making my current situation very difficult, just like many people my finance are very tight, I have sine Jan 09 been charged £560, this has obviously just kept rolling over into every month I get more charges because of the previus charges.
Can I also note that on every charge I have NEVER gone above £8 over the limit and they see fit to charge me either £22 or £44 every month.

When I tried to speak to them to help me and possibly give me a consolidation loan and begin to pay back what I owe they simply said "computer says no", reason being Iam too much in debt, (I HAVE NEVER EVER MISSED A PAYMENT), if the computer says no they will not help.

Probably no one will find this useful and will maybe even sa I should have looked after my finances better, my argument would be if your with a bank for a long time why should they not help me or others in similar situations.

Terrible customer service and no human emotions, happy to get you into debt at a young age but not happy to help when they've given you too much.
