Premium Review Barclays Bank: A happy student banking with Barclays (760 words)
by - written on 14/08/02 (Useful, 364 readings)
Rating:

I have been a very happy Barclays customer for 6 years now. Not very long admittedly, but I am only 19. I first opened an account when I was 13. I only had about £5 in there for years, until I got a job! Barclays are very helpful, and they do everything for you. When I turned 16, I was awaiting my GCSE results. Barclays sent me a letter ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Barclays Bank: 22 years of hell with Barclays (331 words)
by - written on 26/06/02 (Useful, 218 readings)
Rating:

I hate them. I started an account with them when I was 10 and it went downhill from there! Over my 22 years with them, I have had two Barclaycards and a Connect card, all of which were used fraudulently. Direct Debits were stopped without my asking and I was not informed until the mortgage company contacted my after my endowment failed to be ...  Read the complete review

barclays the real story (625 words)
by - written on 02/06/02
Rating:

Barclays was the first bank that I ever opened an account with, and it is a decision which has haunted me for many years since then. In 1993, a friend who I met through work turned out to be a professional con man. He gained lots of information about me which was very easy as we were flat mates. I must add that he had done this to other ...  Read the complete review

I've been with Barclays for 13 years now and never had a problem with them. There student and then graduate service once you finish university is very good. Premium Review Barclays Bank: Great for students, terrible for the rest (374 words)
by - written on 15/04/02 (Useful, 203 readings)
Rating:

I signed up with Barclays when I started at university 6 years ago. In my university branch (City University) I was very pleased with the service. I felt I had a real "relationship" with the personal bankers - they even sent me a birthday card - and I rarely had to queue longer than a few years. As a student, they agreed an ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Is Barclays really that Bad? (494 words)
by - written on 31/03/02 (Very useful, 497 readings)
Rating:

A national newspaper recently reported that Halifax was 'about to do a Barclays'. The article was reporting about how Halifax was heading 'for the same spectacular fall from consumer popularity that Barclays did in the late 1990s, something which the giant has never been able to shake off'. This is in reference to, or ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Barclays Bank: Barclays' advise student to leave university six months ... (590 words)
by - written on 04/02/02 (Very useful, 909 readings)
Rating:

I was somewhat surprised, shocked, and upset with Barclays’ decision to refuse my recent overdraft request. I was even more shocked when Barclays asked for the overdraft to be repaid, withdrawing my student facilities, and advising I should abandon my degree just seven months before graduation. I am staggered at the unaccommodating ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review THE BIN LADEN CONNECTION (602 words)
by - written on 20/01/02 (Very useful, 468 readings)
Rating:

I am leaving Barclays. Barclays has 'links to the bin Ladens' and to the selling of military equipment to the Third World. Over the years that I was a customer of Barclays, they provided often lousy, could-not-care-less service. I was living in Asia. I had lots of money invested with Barclays and I had a Barclays Visa card. I used ...  Read the complete review

Well here I am back, on the wonderful (amongst other things) money earning site that is Dooyoo, after a prolonged absence and what topic shall be my returning opinion be on? Money… how um, appropriate? Barclays, the well-known banking company, less well known for its amazing TV adverts, but hey that is another matter. This account ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Barclays Bank: don't click more than once! (87 words)
by - written on 24/11/01 (Useful, 29 readings)
Rating:

Altogether, not a bad site. Certainly more convenient than visiting personally or contacting via the telephone! I like the way I can set up payments in a matter of minutes. I found this paticularly useful as I have often had to make one-off payments. The only snag is that if you accidently click more than once on a paticular item, it logs you out ...  Read the complete review

After my mother had her bankcards stolen when she was on a recent holiday to Majorca, I have been forced to change my opinion about Barclays Bank. The cards were stolen in Palma Nova around midday on the last Thursday of her holiday. Premium Review Barclays Bank: STANDARD BANKING (189 words)
by - written on 16/10/01 (Useful, 51 readings)
Rating:

I mainly use the barclays.co.uk website to access my accounts. I have no real need to go into the branch anymore, unless I have a major problems which is rare. Premium Review Bovine Barclays (491 words)
by - written on 03/10/01 (Very useful, 91 readings)

To be honest I don't expect much out of a bank. I don't know anything about how to make my money make more money, or what services some banks may be providing that I'm not getting. All I want is a glorified mattress, with holes in the wall, and accurate statements. I've been with Barclays all my life, since Mum and Dad set ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review World's biggest Barclays fan (1041 words)
by - written on 12/09/01 (Very useful, 333 readings)
Rating:

I have been with Barclays since completely losing patience with my previous bank, Nat West, in about 1992. What happened then was that, after years of offering a service ranging from middling to teeth-grindingly awful, Nat West refused to reinstate my student account when I returned to college for my MSc. I toured the local major bank ...  Read the complete review

Talk about being just a number and not recognised for who or what you are. When I was a student , all the Bank's courted us like crazy. At University we were approached by all the major UK PLC's trying to convince us to come and work for them. Premium Review Barclays Premier - Top Notch (161 words)
by - written on 12/08/01 (Somewhat useful, 448 readings)
Rating:

OK so Barclays Premier doesn't have the same ring as Coutts, Childs, Hoares and Adam & Company. The cheque books and cards are a bit naff too. The service - out of this world. Starting with a dedicated account transfer team who phone you to tell you how things are going. Add a manager who is genuinely qualified (ACIB and FPC) and who ...  Read the complete review
