I have had a Barclays account for as long as I can remember. I have 2 current accounts with them and two savings accounts. I signed up for online banking about a year ago and was reasonably happy with it, since the new look (and after all the teething problems of seeing other accounts - didn't happen to me!) I have been very impressed.

To sign up you fill in a form with your details, to ensure security a number and password are sent by post. This took about a week (my Dad also signed up recently - his took 4 days to come through).

You can see all your account balances at once and browse easily through the detailed statements.

For everything you do you are taken step-by-step through it, whether it is making a payment, making a transfer, etc. It is easy to search for new payees - you can also pay into any other bank account. The original set-up had limited payees, but so far with the new system I have been able to make payments to everyone I have needed to.

A month or two ago I had problems with my internet connection (so slow!) and I mistakenly made 3 payments to someone instead of one. I easily found a customer number to ring - the telephonist was very helpful and friendly and was able to correct my error immediately.

The only problem I have is that I am a big user of my browser back button - unfortunately if you press it while in Barclays you get logged off!

Why does dooyoo force me to add disadvantages? I don't really have any...

Overall I am extremely happy with the Barclays online banking system - I have had no security problems or usage problems and it is reassuring to know that if I do have a problem I can telephone friendly, helpful customer services.
