We were recommended a Clydesdale mortgage by our financial advisor - and on paper it looked like a great deal. But they have been an absolute nightmare to deal with. It took weeks and weeks to get the mortgage approved - with questions ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous following the valuation on our new home. Then, when they'd finally ...

Many people make a big hoo hah about changing banks these days. Personally, I don't bother. You see, Clydesdale doesnt offer me gimmicks or 0% on transfers but we sting you elsewhere. Instead they offer you a steady service, everything carries a low charge (but nothing is passed) and I am not unfairly penalised for doing something wrong. I also ...

As a customer of the Clydesdale bank I feel that things are definitely getting worse, however, I feel that it is not simply down to the staff on the front counter - they can only do so much. If they are not provided with the tools and support in place to do the job properly. Half the time it seems that the staff are fighting the system ...

I was charged £62.50 when I sent £100 to a poor family in India. Through ActionAid, I used to sponsor Monj, a poor Indian boy in the Calcutta area. Now Monj is grown up and is working with an organisation that helps the poor. Recently Monj got married and I sent him £100. Clydesdale Bank informed me that the cost of this transaction was £62.50. ...

This is a truly appalling bank and I hope your site puts off any potential customers. Our telephone banking service was inoperable today and the final explanation was that it had been cancelled 2 weeks previously as they thought it had been fraudulently accessed - a fact we were never informed about (it wasn't the case needless to say, but if ...

Clydesdale bank in £128 is half of £360 shock! After agreeing to clear five cheques, the day before my salary went in, the bank bounced them and charged me £128 plus a £32 penalty. Then bounced them again even though my salary had gone in the next day and charged penalties totalling £360. When I complained, they offered to refund 'half' ...

The Clydesdale Bank.... now where can I start ??? To give you a few clues why you shouldn't bank with them I've put some of my main problems into headings: 1) Despite the staff being friendly enough face to face... wait for the letters to start. At £14 a letter you expect them to be printed on gold leaf or at least from a nice ...

I have never had so much trouble with a bank as I had with the Clydesdale. This review is aimed at students trying to choose which bank to bank with. I chose the Clydesdale - who like all banks tripped over themselves to offer me huge overdrafts and credit cards during my expensive study days at Glasgow Schol of Art. All was well and good - ...

I had two accounts with them one for bills and one for my pay, the account for my bills has been run by the bank like they dno't care becaues it's not there money that's going astray. I was puting in enough money to cover all my bills and some extra so that when home I couold ...

I have banked with Clydesdale for about 1 1/2 months - and that was enough. After my wife and I moved to Scotland from Australia we shopped around for a current account and ended up at Clydesdale. They seemed to be the easiest going and least paperwork fanatic. Which was true until we actually wanted to use our account. We received our ...

I have banked with the Clydesdale for 20 years and this week decided that enough was enough and to change to another bank. My main argument with them is this - I have 2 accounts. One is for all the direct debits e.g. mortage etc. and my partner and myself transfer funds into it each month. The second is my own personal account. On several ...
