I was looking for a no nonsense bank account after having been let down by Barclays on numerous occasions. I had read about The Co-operative bank on a moneysaving website and all the signs looked very positive.
I opened a basic cashminder account in September as this was ideal as a sole trader because it was free from charges, such as direct debits and standing orders. The whole process took about 20 minutes over the phone to setup and I was informed within 7 days that i had been accepted.

Setting up the login online was problem free and the whole site was clear and easy to read. I could even do all the same things that I use to do with barclays, such as check my balance and pay bills etc.
The lack of branches was a concern at first but you can pay cash and cheques in at any Post office without any hassle. Cash will show up on your account instantly, but cheques will take 3 days to clear.

All in all a very happy customer!
