Easy account opening process (Co-operative Bank)

Advantages: Internet and phone banking on basic account

I have recently opened a basic Cashminder account and have found the whole experience to be very easy and hassle free. I turned up at the branch at 09:30 when they opened, without an appointment and was immediately shown a seat and my details taken. I had already checked online what ID I would need (Passport & Driving Licence) and I was asked the minimum of questions. After no more than ten minutes, the assistant informed me that all should be fine and my welcome pack would arrive within the week, which it did. I was able to register for phone and internet banking straight away and my visa Electon card turned up the following day with the PIN following a couple of days later. This process was so much easier than accounts I have has at Lloyds and Barclays in the past. The Co-Operative also prides itself on being an ethical bank which was one of the attractions for me. Two thumbs up.
