First Direct
To be honest I am a bit of a 'tart' when it comes to financial products. I move to the latest deal as soon as possible to benefit. The main reason I moved to First Direct was for the £100 incentive alongside the £250 interest free overdraft which is a great offer. I was expecting to stay for a year and then move on but I do have to say I think I am going to stick with First Direct.

Signing Up and Switching Process
I signed up on line and it was a really easy process. Within a day or two I received a whole load of paperwork to read through. I was also sent forms to provide to my employer so that my salary could be paid into my new account. The whole process took about three weeks. I was regularly sent information by post to keep me up to date. I would say, with my environmental hat on, there was a bit too much bumpff and it was all so 'packaged' but I was able to recycle it all.

Excellent Customer Service
The thing that has made First Direct a keeper for me is the excellent customer service that I have received on the telephone. The phone is answered usually within two rings even during busy times. The staff are friendly, the security procedure is easy to get through, and it really is a pleasure to use. There is also an easy to use online banking service that I check regularly to make sure my accounts in line. Another service which I also have found useful is the text service which sends me a short summary of the latest transactions on my account twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.

In summary
This is a great account which is easy to move to, easy to use and definitely easy to keep.
