Here you are an improved opinion from me. I would like to express my opinion about First Direct Bank. One morning, I received some mail. And along with that was a leaflet about First Direct. It said that if I open a Bank Account with them, I would get £15.00. I know the amount is not that big but still it tempted me to open an account. So I rang them up. You have to give the reference number that is specified in the leaflet. One phone call did it all. I was a little unsure as due to my low credit, they might refuse. They offer a vast amount of services like Banking, Insurance, Travel, Mortgage, Loan, Investments, Protection, and Shares. I was given the answer straight away. The customer service adviser advised me that I should get a cheque guarantee card (Switch) along with a chequebook. To my surprise, I was also given over draft of £250.00. All went smoothly. I received all the paperwork within a week. Brilliant! You have to call them to confirm that you have received the card and the rest. So I called up the bank, just one ring and they always answer the phone. Until now there was once, I had to let the phone ring a couple of times. Once you get through, there it is the lovely voice of a customer services adviser, calm, cheerful and ready to take your call. They confirmed my details and that’s it. Everything was activated and my Bank Account was ready to use. After a few weeks, I noticed the £15.00 was there in my account. Very impressive. Although we have a PC and Internet access, my husband doesn't agree to use the service. He thinks it’s still not secured. But if you ask me, I think it as I do Internet shopping all the time. One more thing I like about First Direct is that they never ask you your account number like other banks. They ask for your home postcode, your initial and surname and other security questions. When they are dealing with y
our account and if they see that you could do better with other sort of accounts, then they will advise you. Also their Financial Advisors are very helpful and always give the right information. In my opinion, this is the bank, which deserves an award for excellence. Although I am a customer with other bank for years, First Direct beats the entire banks for their Excellency.
