I opened my Halifax Websaver account via Beenz. I was supposed to get 1000 beenz for opening an account. I had been looking at opening an account with another Building Society since our local branch of the Woolwich had closed down and the nearest one was 5 miles away. The Websaver account has a very good rate of interest and I could manage it online which seemed like a good idea.

After registering for an account I went to my local Halifax branch to show proof of address etc. I also tried to pay some money into the account but was told I couldn't pay any money into the branch, I had to wait for a Card to pay the money in. I was told that now I had shown proof of address, I would receive the Card in a couple of days. This was 3 weeks ago and as yet no sign of a Card. I have contacted Halifax on 3 occasions but have not got anywhere.

Also I have found the website quite difficult to navigate.

All in all I am not impressed with the Halifax and I have not received the 1000 beenz either.
