Advantages: Good telephone, branch and intenet banking, Friendly staff, Reasonable rate of interest

Disadvantages: Not good when you need help, They like to push loans onto you, I've not seen that Howard bloke off the ads yet.

Being a Halifax customer for 6 years I think they are quite good, but I fear are starting to lose it slightly.

First- the good experience. Someone had cloned the details of my Switch card, taking about £300 out of my account, from a ASDA petrol station in Leicester, a place i've never been to. Having local bank staff was very handy at this point. Told me to goto the Police station to report it and then dealt with me make sure I got my money back. After 4 weeks, I got it back, with apologies.

Now the bad- why did they extend my overdraft so easily when i was a student, but not now just as i have a new job? The staff are friendy in their branches, and their telephone and internet banking service is good (works on Apple Macs fine BTW) but everything is sooo automated. They wont take into account you circumstance, they instead just keep offering you loans and more bloody loans!

Overall, a better banking experience than my Barclays account I used to have, but I cant conclude until they've given me more money!!!

The transition from student to employee is always difficult and there are few Banks who consistently get it right on their part. Sue :)
