The halifax is one of those building societies where everyone wants to help, loads of different accounts, easy to contact and a good appointment system means if you want to see someone theres no long wait.
I think for a starter account their solo acc is ideal. Youngsters dont have a cheque card or book, but still access their money through the machines. They can also pay by card whereever solo is accepted. The advantage of an account like this is it cannot get overdrawn so the account holder lives within their budget.........

good service and great staff along with regular statements couldnt ask for more.
