I have banked with Halifax ever since I was a small child. It all started off with a passbook account which I paid birthday and christmas money into, along with any excess pocket money that I received, then as soon as I turned 16 and got a part time job, I opened up an easycash account, complete with a solo card and have never looked ...  Read the complete review

I opened an easycash account with Bank of Scotland nearly six years ago to have my salary paid in. It was just after Halifax had taken over and there were quite a few changes but I felt they treated me well and the basic account was all I needed. I enjoy being a customer there and felt I was treated well and fairly. I have had some ...  Read the complete review

**My dealings with the Halifax** Reviewing a banking service was never going to be easy as you base it on your own personal experiences with them which then means you can become very biased depending on whether or not they have hacked you off through bad customer service or excessive charges. I hope my review is fair about ...  Read the complete review

What an awful Company. My son had an account with the Halifax. After going £10.00 overdrawn last year I paid off over £128.00 and asked that the account be closed down. My Son was with me at the time and authorised them to speak to me and to close the account. After paying off the charges with my own Halifax Debit Card, the ...  Read the complete review

I have held a Halifax current account for just over a year now having always been with Nationwide. I was a Halifax customer until quite recently. I opened a current account with them, a joint account with my previous partner. After approximately two years of good service from Halifax, my partner and I split in quite a nasty ending. I went to Halifax and cancelled my partners direct debit for his phone bill as I was the main account ...  Read the complete review

My parents opened a savings account with Halifax for me when I was a baby, and so my relationship with them began. I can only write about Halifax as I have never looked at changing - too much hassle and I have had no real reason to. My husband has also held an account with Halifax since he was a child and between us we have 3 current ...  Read the complete review

I have banked with Halifax since leaving school 6 years ago and recently made the final decision to change to another bank. I am appalled with the charging system they have in place. Express Review on Halifax
by - written on 05/07/08

Hello I was wondering if anyone can help me.. i sent off a letter to Halifax to reclaim my bank charges. I got back a letter which appeared to be automated saying that there was an ongoing court case and they would inform me as they would all the customers in the same position of the outcome. a few weeks later i received a letter stating that the judge had deemed there costs legal and therefore they would not refund themDoes any one know what i can do now, as i cannot see a way forwrd if the judge has made this decision on behalf of all the nation? Surely there must be another way, banks cannot get away with robbing us blind any longer.... any help is appreciated thanks
