Advantages: you don't get big phone bills, easy to use, access to all your account details.

Disadvantages: Can't really think of anything as it's a secure site.

I have used Hsbc as my main bank all my life and think it is a good bank to be with. I always go on the online banking as it saves ringing up and waiting to speak to someone and it costing loads on your phone bill. The Hsbc site is easy to use when you log on to there website you register with them. Then after that all you have to do when you login is put your number that you have been given then there's a few details that you have to put it like your date of birth your security number etc. Which ensure that your account is safe. When you are logged in you can look through all your accounts whether its a personal account, Isa, loan or credit card. I think is useful as half the time you don't keep up to date with how much you own on your loan etc, so with online banking you can view all that is going on in your account. When you look at your personal account you can see all the outgoing and ingoing amounts that have been paid into your account. You can also view any standing orders or direct debits you have and if you don't want them no more it's so simple to cancel them. You can also make payments to peoples banks through the online banking so you don't even need to leave the house to go to the bank.
I think this site is good as you can even apply for credit cards etc online so you don't even need to ring anyone., you can also find out about mortgage rates etc. overall I think online banking is great and I'll definately carry on using it.

Summary: OverallI think hsbc banking is brilliant.
