Advantages: I have saved hours and hours in past few years because of this

Disadvantages: Front log in page annoys me sometimes as it seems to double load

I think I've been into a HSBC branch about once in the past 5 years other than to pay cheques in. This is thanks to the online banking service, gone are the days of long ques in banks and rushing to branches in lunch breaks. It's now just a few clicks away, I will check my balance later and it will take me just a few minutes to do.

HSBC's online banking is very simple to use, it is set out in a nice simple way, and it feels secure. The only issue is that on the front page where you put your id in, the pages reloads after a few seconds, so you need to wait or you will loose the first part of your id sometimes.

You can check all your accounts at once like current, saving and credit cards. You can easily transfer money between accounts and check recent transactions. You can also pay bills and transfer money to other people's banks. You can even transfer money abroad, I recently did this for a flat fee of 17 pounds to pay for a hotel booking.

Summary: If you don't use it you are wasting valuble time.
