Advantages: Easy to use banking on the phone, on the high street, and online.

Disadvantages: My credit card gets stopped for fraud checks all too often.

I was with Barclays at 18 years of age, but they refused me a student loan so I tried HBC and getting the loan couldn't of been easier so I dropped Barclays. talking to friends at the time they had similar issues with Barclays. Since switching I have been very happy with HSBC and have no reason to change 13 years later.

Debit card was issued as standard with my current account, and credit cards were easy to get too. I don't spend much on credit cards so can't comment on that too much. The only thing i have noticed is that they seem very strict on fraud which I can understand but is also a bit annoying as I will all too often have to verify a transaction before it is completed which has caused some frustrating delays. On the other hand my card was used fraudulently once and the bank fixed the situation immediatley so I understand their vigilance.

I have had the online savings accounts since leaving university and found them very easy to set up. They pay good interest too and really helped me to save money.

When speaking to customer service I generally am happy with the results, and the wait is never too long. On the whole the bank has been very easy to deal with.

Summary: I'm very happy with HSBC and see no reason to change.
