good for simple banking

Advantages: easy process to set up account, self service machines
Disadvantages: not the best interest rates
I changed my main current account to HSBC approx 5 years ago as i wasn't happy with the bank i was with at the time, i visited my local branch in nuneaton with my identification and i was set up a basic bank account with a cash card, the process was simple and quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bank doesn't offer the best interest rates for savings, loans and mortgages etc but if you have been with them for a while go and speak to them as they can normally offer a better deal then what's advertised. Being a world recognised bank there are cash points everywhere and you can normally use your card in any of the other banks atm's. They have self service machines in the branch where you can pay cash and cheques into your account, it's easy to use and saves a lot of time not having to wait for a cashier. If you are after a simple bank account then HSBC is ideal, but if you have a lot of money to invest then i think it will be better to go to a bank which is offering better interest rates.
Summary: i have been happy with them for a while now and am not planning on moving
