Advantages: Willing to listen, Want to be good

Disadvantages: Don't always act on ideas, Prefer higher wealth customers

I have to start by saying I work for HSBC. But apart from having a current AC I have no other products.
What I will give them credit for is their new found focus on giving excellent customer service and their superb Internet Banking site.
Or at least this is what we are lead to think. My girlfriend went in the other day to open an student a/c and they said that she couldn't have one as she wasn't getting her tuition fees paid. Now she has a fair amount of savings and she has a job so why they turned her away I don't know. In 2 years she will be a teacher and we will be getting a house probably. Short term debt does not mean that she will always be poor. We turned away Richard Branson because he was scruffy when he was a student. D'oh.

I would write about their products but that is what a Financial Advisor does.

If you do have a problem with HSBC tell them as they really are listening to customers. In Bill Dalton we have a good 'leader' who wants to make HSBC a people bank. So tell HSBC what they can do to become better and they will do it. If you have a problem with staff, tell management and they will sort it out because for every 1 bad service experience 10 people hear about it.

If you are already an HSBC customer they can give you ideas on any other products you may want. Their product range is building very quickly and for Private Clients they have a big investment centre that deals purely with these clients that have over 30,000 in stocks, shares etc. This is where I work, and the amount of money some people have is amazing. HSBC are more interested in the higher wealth customer. However I believe if we give them enough ideas they will sort things out and become possibly the best high street bank. Complaints have dropped and satisfaction has risen.

This is all I will say but if you are after any new products or just advice I do recommend going to see a Financial Advisor becau
se the more you tell your bank the more they can help you manage your finances.

It doesn't say a lot when their own staff say that the rates are not that good, does it?
Sorry about the SU, but you didn't really tell us very much about HSBC and as a member of staff you should have a lot to share with us!
