HSBC is one of the largest banks in the UK and has a reputation for being honest, reliable and modern. In my opinion I believe they offer a good service to customers - staff are clearly trained in how to satisfy their customers, to be knowledgeable about products and to have a "greeter" at the door who will direct you to the quickest way ... Large high street bank that don't deal with your complaints effectively. Despite being a model customer and having a lot of money in various accounts with them I have had some pretty poor treatment. Had my cards expired early and did not receive any replacements for a month, despite chasing them up. Avoid.

I have been a customer of HSBC for over 15 years and have never switched banks purely because they have never given me any problems. From HSBC you can get mortgages, credit cards, bank accounts, savings accounts for both adults and children, loans, all types of insurance, foreign currency and business services. Their internet banking page is ... Read the complete review

I have had a bank account with HSBC for around 3 years now. The reason I opened the account was because a new branch opened near to me which open on Sunday and until 8pm week nights. This is the branch located in Meadowhall Sheffield. I do use internet banking but sometimes you really do have to go into the branch in person and I liked being able ... Read the complete review

I have held a bank account with HSBC since I was turned 16 and I had my first job lined up. I went to my local branch with the relevant photographic ID (passport) and proof of address (Medical card) and was immediately signed up for a standard account and a savings account. I then created my security number (between 6-10 ... Read the complete review

I've been with them since the days of Griffin Savers when they were Midland Bank and now my mortgage, current account, savings are all with them, I did have some accounts at barclays but all are now with HSBC. They're very helpfull, loads of branches, good internet banking site and generally I'm unable to fault them. In addition they're one of hte biggest banks in the world, and to date they are nearly the only bank in the UK that's not had a major bail-out by the government, no cash injections etc. I have given them the maximum 5 star rating for their service, products and also their financial footing. I know which bank I'd rather be with in this financial climate and it is HSBC.

HSBC have a history of offering good savings accounts, I remember 10% regular savings and 6% instant access with monthly interest. At the moment you can get 8% on their regular saver when you have your salary paid into a fee free current acc. Their internet banking is not as fast or intuitive as Lloyds or Halifax and I'm not sure about ... Read the complete review

I've had my account with HSBC for over ten years. In fact, when I opened my account they were called Midland Bank. So I do have quite a bit of experience of their services. HSBC's internet banking service is fairly reliable, I have only been unable to log in to my account a handful of times since I started using the service about 3 or 4 ... Read the complete review

I have already written about Barclays, the bank I bank with. I opened an account with HSBC at the peak of the financial crisis since I had to diversify the number of banks holding my savings. I was already a client of 3 different banks and opening an account with HSBC proved easy, they asked me the usual 2 copies of address and ... Read the complete review

HSBC otherwise known as the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corparation is probably the largest and most internationally wide spread bank on the UK high street, but to start with is a good reason to trust them with your money - it's very safe relative to the more domestic UK banks and this was proven this year where other UK banks were given money ... I went to see someone about my regular saver account today in the Oxford (UK) branch. No one was at the help desk so I had to ring the bell. The manager who look really miserable came out. I told her the problem.
She just told me to call the helpline. I called the helpline, the operator told me to see someone at the bank. The staff at HSBC are not helpful at all.
They need to get off their backsides and provide better customer service.

I have been banked with HSBC for 5 years now and they have nearly always been very accommodating and helpful, but just recently they have refused to give us an overdraft so when we now go overdrawn even if it is by £5 then they charge you £25 for the pleasure how nice of them is that (not). My husband has phoned up and on numerous occasions ... Read the complete review

I've had an account with HSBC for a few years now, and didn't have any problems with them up until this past summer. I was going abroad for a couple of months, and phoned up to inform them when and where I was going, as I would be requiring the use of my card while I was there. I am completly unhappy with the service that I received.
