WORST CREDIT CARD COMPANY EVER. I have never had a single issue with another credit card company and HSBC was nothing but problems. I would strongly caution someone from opening an account with them, especially since there are so many GOOD credit card companies. I am very pleased to no longer have my name associated with HSBC and caution anyone ... Read the complete review

I was trying to set up a payment program to allow my employer to pay HSBC directly for my auto loan, due to the fact that I go out to sea for extended periods of time. I ended up speaking to a man that spoke very little English and could care less if he helped me at all. He asked me for my account number and I gave it to him, along with one ... I have been with HSBC for coming up to 4 years now and they are by far the best for young persons accounts, they have consistently the highest interest rates, and from the age of 13 offer a new chip and pin solo card with which you can buy items with both in stores and online. Their service at my local branch and two others nearby has been ... Read the complete review

I started claiming back my bank charges in January by sending off a letter asking to see my statements for the last few year which they did free of charge (some banks are charging up to £10 for this). I highlighted all of the charges that I had incurred over the years and sent them back, 2 weeks later I recieved a letter stating that the matter ... Read the complete review

As an employee of HSBC I wanted to share my views about it. Within my call centre I know of several members of staff who are 'upgrading' bank accounts to the bank account plus without the customers consent. This is then tying the customer into a 12 month dealat 12.95 per month. This has been highlighted to managers who do not care ... Read the complete review

Hsbc supports fraud while shouting the opposite. Recently in its (US) UK India Call Centre a guy who detected two huge system flaws was penalised by his manager for not revealing and letting the manager grab the credit. Senior managers have done nothing. By the way the call centre is headed by an American who too has done nothing, the rest are ... Read the complete review

I have banked with HSBC for 10 years, the last 2 years have been horrendous. They have refused payments on my business card for small amounts under £100 although there are large sums in my a/c and my limit has not been reached - total embarassment. Call centres in India are useless the staff often do not understand the problem. Staff in Uk ... Read the complete review

HSBC may be one of the world's largest banks, but it is now so big that it has become as bureacratic as a (badly run) government department. You can stand in a queue in one of their branches with just one of the five tills open and be ignored by visible backroom staff who joke and chat with each other. There once used to be a culture at ... Read the complete review

Great internet. But why charge me for using an HSBC ATM when abroad ... what's the point in being the worlds largest bank then? This is only free if you pay £12 a month. I have been with what is now the HSBC (but was originally Midlands Bank) for now over 20yrs. A bank gives an idea of a place where money can be borrowed from and where money can be saved for investment without much risk. HSBC, from the viewpoint of an international student, doesn't meet those concepts very well. Firstly, you can't get loans from them because you are an international student. Secondly, their student's account doesn't ... Read the complete review

I've banked with the HSBC for the past 10 years, after my local branch of the Natwest reduced its opening hours.
