OK, I only signed up with HSBC for my student account as they were the only bank at the time giving away a 5 year young persons railcard when you opened an account with them. However, when I opened my account I had not received my A-level results yet so I opened a pre-student account. Easy enough I thought, until I actually wanted to get the ... Read the complete review

I believe that HSBC is one of the best banks in the UK. - That doesn't necessarily mean that I like them though. Staff in Branches are really nice and helpful, they will do all that they can to help. The problem with this bank is that they have a policy of kicking you while you're down, by imposing fees, even if you are 1 day ... Read the complete review

I've been with HSBC for about ten years now and I've never had any problems with them, though a lot of my friends have had problems with their banks. They've let me keep my agreed overdraft since I left university, and increased it temporarily on a couple of occasions when I needed that. Nor have I ever been hit with any stupid ... HSBC are very good if all you intend to do is use the internet but when you have to actually communicate with the customer services you come up against problems. *A couple of years ago when I was working abroad and was unable to access the internet to pay bills I tried to pay my monthly credit card bill. Some weeks later I looked at ... Read the complete review

I now hat HSBC ? once upon a time I was a very happy banker, not anymore. My account below applies almost word for word for my flatmate - so you can take this as two unhappy customers of hsbc. I have had an account with HSBC for over ten years, inc an overdraft, previously a credit card and now a loan. A few years ago they ... Read the complete review

I have been with HSBC for five years now. I opened a Livecash account with them purely because they had a Mid-Bank at my school which was run by students but supervised by staff and so they seemed the obvious choice. Ever since i opened my account they have kept me aware of my finances yet they do not keep bombarding me with junk mail ... Read the complete review

This bank gives me the services I want and did so before the other could get their butts in gear. It's also the first institution to have EVER apologised to me for getting something wrong and specifically outlined any action taken to put it right. And that was for something that didn't even involve a monetary transaction on my account. ... Read the complete review

I am a customer of HSBC Bank and I have started a protest against the bank regarding their decision to move 4,000 jobs from Britain to Asia. Make your voice heard - sign the online petition and let's make them "listen"... www.PetitionOnline.com/hsbcjobs For reference, here is the text of the petition: To: ... Read the complete review

I have held an account with HSBC for over 10 years and never had a problem...until recently. I rang up to cancel a standing order with them, and they for some reason assumed that I only wanted to cancel one payment. This is where the problems stated. First month, fine no money gone. Second month, money starts to go out again. So I phone again and ... Read the complete review

I joined HSBC around 3 months ago after leaving Natwest for poor service. HSBC were very kind when I opened an account, not only handed over a shower proof clock radio, but were only too pleased to give me a £100 cheque guarantee card and a switch card. This is quite amazing considering i`m 17 on a part time Sainsburys job ... Read the complete review

Founded in 1865 the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking corporation has for the last one hundred years or so merged and acquired its way through the worlds banking establishments until in 1999 it crashed in on us as HSBC replacing the more familiar Midland Bank we all knew and loved (?) Boring. That's the word that springs to mind when I think of banks. Money grabbing. Another two words that pop into my head. Long queues. A prospect I assume I would have to face when entering a bank. The list could go on. But I'll stop right there. Because I have found a bank that eliminates all of the above thoughts. I have ... When I first opened my HSBC Bank Account I was given a small overdraft facility for business purposes. The original agreement was with the 'Midland Bank'. I recently opened an account with HSBC and i would seriously recommend them. I got in the bank all ready with my pasport and address proof and i didnt even have to wait. When I fisrt joined HSBC I wondered why I bothered, transactions were slow, (it took days to register a withdrawal and internet banking was useless, although customer service was always exceptional). Why the good rating I hear you ask, well I gave them a chance due to 'service with a smile', and how lucky was I to do so, the ... Read the complete review

I have been with HSBC since they introduced the kiddies account with free sports bag, folder, pencil case, dictionary etc..you know the type of thing. At the tender age of nine, everybody had a griffin sports bag and well, I wanted one too. Since then I have graduated from a live cash account (with my first ever cash card!) to a current ... Yes, I work for HSBC. And I'm proud to....and not too many people can say that about their job. I've been having a look around the other comments and they're interesting, the good and the bad. I have recently changed bank accounts from Natwest to HSBC (after 12 years with Natwest) and I felt it only right to give them a pat on the back for what proved to be a fantastically smooth switch (excuse the pun).
