For the last few years i've had an HSBC First Direct account Telephone banking account. The customer service of this bank goes far beyond what you would expect with any bank. You will be very pleasantly surpised. Firstly the transfer went very smoothly without any problems at all. They almost always answer the phone ... Read the complete review

I have been banking with HSBC for about 16 years now, I must say that in this time I have had no cause to complain. Although I am not too good with my money they have helped me in sevral cases to make my money work for me. My husband joined the bank a few years ago when he joined me on my joint account. My husband being the wise one saves all ... Read the complete review

For those of you who are regular readers of my dooyoo reviews (thanks to you all in advance!!), you will know that I recently went through the trauma of applying for a loan (see review: Wilmslow Financial Services Ltd.). My wife and I then wanted to open a joint account, in order to pay in the (big!) cheque from the loan company. The ... Read the complete review

Banking with HSBC really is a pleasure. The thing that makes it such a pleasure are all the free services that they offer. If you have Sky Digital you can take advantage of the HSBC services on there, there is also a similar service that launched on the internet which offers even more features than the Sky Digital (Open) service. You can also ... Read the complete review

As a student, I needed a bank account with a savings option and a current account with good features and with the HSBC 16-19 account I definately got that! You get the Solo card, cheques, paying in is swift and cheques clear overnight most of the time. Interest isn't too bad either. The other main factors that put HSBC above the rest ... What has happened to all the Old boy BRITISH banks. Well they all go to foreign hands and then give crap service. I had no worries with their service untill they got taken over by money grabbing, no whare to be seen foreign johnny. My First Experience of HSBC (Midland) was when I had just finished my Degree and reuired a Car to beable to star my new £14,500 Job. I had a letter from the company stating that there was no 6 month trial period. The Abbey National who i was banking with at the time said that they would not loan me the money untill I had been paid. This was not ... Read the complete review

Considering the rigorous banking examinations prospective bank employees must undergo before they can work for such an establishment, there seems to be an awful lot of dim- witted staff at HSBC, hence my decision to change my banking arrangements. Okay, I might be fussy but I can accept that the odd error can happen. However, with HSBC's ... Read the complete review

I have had my bank account, mortgage and savings with HSBC for 14 years, back to the days of when it was Midland Bank. Over this time the service has got better and better with a great rane of products and many ways to access your account and money. HSBC - a big bank but small mentality. Barclays proclaim their bigness is a bonus, whilst closing branches and treating customers as walking wallets; HSBC manages to be big (bigger than Barclays or Natwest in fact) but does actually try to put the customer first. Whilst the range of products is fairly similar across the major banks, HSBC excels ... Read the complete review

I opened an account with HSBC 4 years when it was still Midland and I was 18 and off to university. Midland seemed to have the best deal for me and it had nothing to do with the free £50 they offered me ;-). So I upped all my money from my Abbey National account and moved it to my new Student Account which offered me a £1500 interest free ... Read the complete review

When I left University a few months ago I naturally had very little money left in my bank account. I used to be with Lloyds Bank until I became a student, and thought I would try out another bank for my student account, all be it at the age of 25. Since then the HSBC have been very helpful and courteous with any enquiry or problem (and I have had a few), and I am not the most accurate person when it comes to my personal finances! :) ...
