I've been a Lloyds customer for what must be over 15 years, and during that time my account has never, ever, been overdrawn unless this has been previously authorised. The account has been funded regularly with my wages each week and standing orders paid. I have had many loans during this time, all of which I have repaid months, if not years, early, so I consider I must have been a model customer.

A few months ago I asked for a small overdraft. It was granted. I never actually used it, but it was "just in case". The overdraft period expired without it being used. I then asked for the same overdraft again, and was refused. I emailed the manager, saying that I had been with the bank for years and years and would they consider my request; bearing in mind I had never done anything wrong, own umpteen credit cards etc. etc. They refused again. It was only after three grovelling letters and conversations with the manager that I finally got the facility. If that is now they treat longstanding customers, I am disgusted. Needless to say, I am looking to change my bank.
