Advantages: None that I can find
Disadvantages: Plenty
I have been a customer of Lloyds TSB for fifty years & I now intend to move my account to another bank as their service has progressively deteriorated.
It is impossible to contact them via any type of e-mail secure or otherwise and on using their telephone banking service one is put through to one of their many indifferent centres at random. They refuse to pay tax free interest to non-residents unless one changes to their off-shore banking service which is fairly expensive and offers few advantages.
The final straw was to constantly refuse to transfer funds via the fast flow system.I was recently informed by one of their call centre staff that the maximum amount that could be transferred by fast flow was £500. I wonder if this bank is deliberately refusing to implement this new system in order to hold money for three days without paying interest or alternatively force customers to pay £30 for a CHAPS transfer. Currently I also hold a bank account in France and their service is many times better than Lloyds TSB.
Lloyds TSB in my opinion is very lucky to receive even a one star rating from me.
Summary: They don't appear to care about current account customers.

- 15/08/09 After being a customer of TSB/LloydsTSB for over 30 years, I began to have all sorts of problems with them. I've now moved to Barclays and so far they have been great. |
