Advantages: Nice branches.

Disadvantages: Havent had too much experience with them...

Since I was young I have had a natwest bank account. I think I was introduced to it as this was the bank my parents bank with. As a was a teenager I got my small wages paid into the account with no problems. When I became a full time wage earner natwest wouldn't upgrade my solo card, which I couldn't use everywhere. I wanted a switch card and even though I took home 1500 a month they still wouldn't let me. I walked straight down the road, opened an account with lloydstsb (who gave me a visa card right away) and although I keep my natwest account open, I hardly use it and have never looked back.

When I went to open my lloydstsb account I found the staff in the branch so friendly and helpful. The branch itself is nicer than natwest, it is more open, airy and modern, making it feel easier to approach the staff with your queries. I spoke to a few ladies while I was in there and they were all incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I have since never had to go in the branch, except to pay cheques in, as the have dealt with my every query and request over the phone to such an acceptable level that I have never had to visit them in person.

I have fond the lloydstsb website and phone line (www.lloydstsb.co.uk and 08453000000) incredibly comprehensive. The website is nice and easy to navigate around and has plenty of options that make it easy to use. You can set up standing orders, direct debits and transfers. You can also apply for loans credit cards and mortgages.

Overall I have had a really positive experience with Lloyds TSB. The only reason I am giving four instead of five stars is because I have never really tested its customer service properly as I have never really had any problems.

Summary: Great communication on phone and net.
