Advantages: Online banking, range of accounts and services

Disadvantages: Paying for some accounts if your not going to use services.

I have banked with Lloyds TSB for about 10 years now. At present I have a Gold current account, savings account and ISA. I originally went with Lloyds due to the extras you get with the current account. With the Gold account you pay £12 per month. For this you get travel insurance, mobile phone insurance, AA cover, sentinal card protection, special savings rates if you have a savings account. You can also shop on line and get discounted items via gold membership pages. I have used the AA membership and it works just as if you are a AA member. Just ring up and give your account number. I also use the mobile insurance. My current account is now joint with my wife and she can also take advantage of the same benefits. Maintaining your account is easy, in branch, phone, or on line. The Lloyds on line banking is easy to use and alot can be done. What I find good is the fact they link the savings and current account and save any change when you py with your debit card. For example, if something cost £4.80, then 20p is transferred to your savings account. This soon mounts up, which is nice! They will even send text messages showing your balance. You can set limits on your account, which they will text and let you know when they have been reached. I have had car Insurance with Lloyds in the past but never a need to claim, but there price was good. After being with Lloyds TSB for many years I can say I have never had need to complain and have always helped me with any problems I have had. Recently my Debit card was cloned, Lloyds spotted this with hours of it happening and I was called by there fraud team. Thank god they did this so quickly, it could have been far far worse. My new card came in about 3 days, very quick. Also most of there branches open on a Saturday morning, which is handy if you work all week. I have had a good experience with Lloyds, I hope it may continue. Would recommend to a friend.
