I am not particularly fond of banks. They've always seemed a bit sterile and intimidating to me. Of course I have a bank account, and I could not live without one, but the less I actually need to go near my bank the better.

When looking fo my student acount way back when, I plumped for Lloyds 'cause they gave away the best freebies. Little did I know this would actually be a wise choice later!

Internet banking has really taken off, and it was an ideal solution for a bankophobe like me. Many of my colleges and friends where unhappy to find that thier bank's offering was delivered at a cost, or was not accessible from work (where, lets face it, most of us use the web) None of these nasty side effects are found with the Lloyds site. It is simple, even if it is a tad slow, it is free, and whats more you get great offers from companies such as Jungle (cds for 8.99 this month)

You can do all you can at the cash point, and maybe a little more, on-line. One nice feature for me is that they instantly add all your open Lloyds accounts, including loans, to your profile. This has meant that I have been able to manage my gradute loan to the point where I am well ahead on paying back, as I can pay in a little more easily and quickly as and when I choose. If you are a Lloyds customer who has not switched this service on, I would recommend you pop in to the local branch for what might be the last time!
