Advantages: simple to use, saves time, multiple use
Disadvantages: laborious to set up some transfers
As a long standing customer of the TSB I have used most of their services at some time over the years, from TSB visa to a cashcard and from home insurance to unit trusts, but this is by far the best facility to be offered. Registering for online access is quite straightforward and full easy to follow instructions are given. Once registered you can access any of your LloydsTSB accounts via the site. Once you have logged in with the codes that have been supplied, navigation of the site is simple. You can select which account you wish to view and display either the current balance or a recent statement. A very useful facility is the ability to pay bills or transfer money, which now saves me a lot of time and hassle. To set up a payment to the Gas company or Credit Card account etcetera, simply enter the name of the company then enter all relevant data such as your Customer ID for the bill that you are paying and a new link will be created. Clicking on that link will allow you to select a payment amount and transfer the funds. When I compare this with my previous system of writing out a cheque with my Name, Address and personal number on the back, it makes me appreciate the real value of this service. Some transactions can be a little laborious to set up, for example transferring money to another personal account. In this case it is necessary to contact the helpline who will set up the transfer with the details you supply, although once it has been created the link can be used at any time with no further hassle. This is a true sign of the times, where paying bills, transferring money and checking your account balance can be done from home with the click of a mouse.

- 14/04/02 I like this internet banking facility too, although not so keen on Lloyds TSB overall! |

- 14/04/02 Interesting, but I feel there are better Internet banking accounts which give higher interest on your money and an equally good service - Kay |
