Advantages: instant wages clearance, no unnecessary bank charges, fast friendly human service
Disadvantages: havent found any yet!
I only joined the Lloyds TSB a few years ago, after making my way around all the others, who refused to deal with a person and instead were so very institutionalised that they could not treat you like a human being, but just dealt with facts, figures and unbending numbers. From the very start, Lloyds understood, and dealt with my queries in a quick and efficient manner, never making any mistakes, as I had in the past with other financial institutions, and never charging me wrongly, or giving me grief of any kind.
I was asked, when I joined, to sign up for their internet banking service as a matter of course, which I was reluctant to do as I didn't have a computer at the time, but am now glad I did as it has proved invaluable to me in keeping track of my finances, and a very tight rein on my spending. I may have been slightly foolish in my spending habits, but I have never had reason to complain about the kindness and understanding I was shown by Lloyds, or the very human element involved in their banking procedures.
The other really great thing about their service is that if you are paid by cheque, and take your payslip and cheque in on the day you are paid, they put this through on nil deferment which means that as it is a wages cheque, it is treated as cash and you do not have to wait for it to clear.
I really like banking with Lloyds and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone 100%.
