The Reading branch is a well presented branch which looks modern and has had a face lift when comparing to some other Nationwides in the area. The facelift has also meant the store has got some quick self service machines useful for deposits of cheques or cash and they can be used with either a card account or a passbook account which I thought was a really handy feature of this branch when there are large queues, such as the lunch time rush.

Lots of natural light make it feel bright and airy which is good if you are standing in a queue. Staff are efficient and quick meaning even if there is a queue it disappears relatively quick.

Nationwide prides itself on having good anti-fraud protection with the new chip and pin card readers used on the online bank to confirm any payments from one account to another.

The online bank is on of the best services nationwide have to offer, and in my opinion is much better than Natwest or HSBC who I also bank with and use the online features. The layout is easily understood, and is less confusing than the others aforementioned above. Transfers from the online bank to others members takes 1 working day and is significantly less than other banks who i'm sure put all the transferred money into a holding account and make profits from the interest generated.

After having some problems with a transfer carried out in branch, both sets of staff at either branch were extremely helpful in helping to understand why the transfer was late, and were quick to rectify the problem as it was not my fault it happened.

Have had an account with them since I was 10, and can thoroughly
recommend them in these harsh financial times. The flex account offers commission free withdrawals from abroad and has one of the best exchange rates for a debit card as they are calculated when the purchase is made.
