You can get 7% with Nationwide BS via their e-savings account. That rate, for instant access, from £1 is pretty well unbeatable.

The site works well, and at least you know with the Nationwide that if there should be any problems they will sort them out. That might not be the case with some of its competitors, one of which isn't even based in the UK!

To use the Nationwide e-savings account you need to have a Flex account to link it to, but you can access that online as well.

The whole package works well, and the site is almost as good as First Direct's - but with better interest rates.
