For teenagers, this is the best bank out there - high interest rates and Internet banking (Nationwide)

Advantages: Geared at 12-17 age group, ATM access, 7% interest rate, just £1 needed to open account, Internet banking facility Disadvantages: none
After searching long and hard, I have finally found a bank which can provide an outstanding account for those of us in the 12-17 age group. Nationwide offers the Smart Account, which provides teenagers with ATM access, Internet banking and an incredible 7% (at time of writing) interest rate. Interest is paid twice a year and even those too young to have a cheque book can order cheques via the Internet banking system and learn how to check their finances online. It offers a lot of freedom for teenagers without letting us go too crazy, and standing orders can be set up to deliver allowance from any generous parent's account! If you're a teen or the parent of a teen, check this one out -- I've scoured the market and it just can't be beaten at the moment. Summary: |
