Went to natwest on-line banking and applied for a loan, was told by the computer that i was provisionally accepted whatever that means, after 2 days i was ent all the paperwork and credit agreement to sign, which i did and i thought well it wont be long now i can sort out my finances and get straight(ha ha),after 2 weeks of not hearing anything i rang the number given to track the process of my application, all that they said they could tell me was that they had received my forms and it was in the process of being dealt with,so i asked if i had been refused, they said they could not tell me that as my application was still being dealt with, anyway waited another 2 weeks and rang again and was told the same thing,my application was being dealt with sorry it was taking so long but they had a back log,the next day i received aletter from them saying that i had been refused and to consult my credit files, which i did online and i can say there was nothing alarming on my credit file,my conclusion is they were quick enough to give me an overdraft, but when you go to them with a problem and you want to consolidate exsisting credit forget it they dont want to know, customer services has not got a clue how to deal with enquiries they just pass the buck or make excuses,I went to my local branch to explain this decision and was told that because i had 3 children £750 a month was taken out of my loan calculation for them,so if you have children forget getting a loan,Iwas also told that my current account has a 6 point rating on it and to qualify for a loan i have to have between 1-5 points, she said the rating on the account is considered every month so i am awaiting a call from my local branch to see if my points go up (i wont hold my breath)
