Advantages: No more than any other major bank
Disadvantages: Lack of Privacy,Poorly staffed
We have been customers of The Natwest bank for over twenty years.
During that time we have seen the way that banks conduct business change drastically.
No longer do you ever really get to see a "Bank Manager ",with the introduction of Online banking more and more of our day to day personal finance is conducted by using this method.
The introduction of the Automated Telling Machine then saw a decrease in the need to actually enter the bank at all!
The staff at our local branch are welcoming and courteous,but it has become clear that the bank is seriously understaffed.
At any time of the day you will inevitably find a long queue,some of whom wait patiently and others wait grudgingly.
The tellers are now pressured into trying to sell the Banks new products(Loans,Credit cards etc)whilst trying to serve you!!
I must admit that I find this habit very bad practise,and will tell the teller straight away that I am NOT interested.
There have been times when I have overheard people discussing matters which should remain very private over the counter,all again down to lack of staff.
So I have to say that standards are slipping Nat West.
