Advantages: Online banking, Saturday opening
Disadvantages: None
I have been with Natwest for about 10 years now. Due to a previous problem I am unable to obstain credit and therefore I only have a basic current account. This includes a solo card. The Solo card can be used to make purchases via the internet or phone and can also be used to purchase goods in a shop and receive cashback. I do not have an overdraft facility.
Natwest offers a wide range of mortgages, investments, insurances (car, home, travel & life), bank accounts and credit cards and they also do loans with a typical APR of 8.9%.
They have a selection of credit cards which offer 0% on balance transfers.
Savings accounts are available for adults and children. The childrens savings accounts are:
Young saver-designed for children under 11.
Child Trust Fund and ordinary childs savings account.
You can apply to join Natwest either on the phone, in the branch or online.
As far as I am aware Natwest are the only bank that are open on a Saturday that offer a counter service.
They also offer an online service which is very easy to register and use.
I have banked with others in the past and have since closed them as I believe Natwest to be the best bank out there at the moment.
When the bank charges refunds were first mentioned I applied for mine straight away and I received 100% of them back within a month. I know other people who banked with others and they still have not received theirs.
I have never had any problems with Natwest and I am a fully satisfied customer
Summary: Would never bank with anyone else

- 06/04/09 In my town Abbey are not open on a Saturday and Barclays do not have a counter service. You can go in and be helped with general enquiries but you can not draw money out over the counter |

- 06/04/09 Abbey and Barclays certainly both offer a Saturday counter service too. |
