We've got several accounts with Natwest - covering current account, loan account and credit card. As the loan account is solely in my husbands name, Natwest wouldn;t allow me to give them the details of our new address. Instead, I changed the address for the bank account and my husband rang them to advise of the new address for the loan account and the credit card.

Lo and behold, Natwest have now sent us a letter saying that they've had to instruct tracing agents to locate us! It doesn;t take a genius to check all the accounts and check for the new address now does it?!

Another thing about Natwest is the customer service. A few years ago, we were severly overdrawn. We told them that our house was for sale and as soon as it was sold the account would be clear. "Not a problem" we were told by the bank manager. The day after we paid in £10,000 (!!!), they told us to send back all our cards and cheque books, despite the account being very healthily in credit!

Nobody seems to know what they;re doing, and since the introduction of lending centres, it apprarently no longer matters what the branch manager tells you. The various departments cannot talk to each other to find out basic information, and despite us telling them where we were, they insist that we didn;t

The best thing about Natwest was the piggy banks that they did years ago - other than that there's not a lot I can say about them that;s good.
