I remember being about thirteen or fourteen years old when my mother suggested I have my own bank account, this would be where I could put my pocket money - meaning I would have to start budgeting for myself! I can't remember exactly why we chose Natwest bank; I suspect it was probably done to some freebie or promotion. Anyway in we went, set up ... Read the complete review

The only bank that I have been with is Natwest. I opened my first account with them when I was 16. I opened a current account and an ISA account. I loved the interest rate that I got with the ISA, but now due to the recession it is less impressive but I cannot blame that on the bank itself. The next account I opened was a Student ... As far as Banks go, Natwest is pretty much as bad as the rest of them. Our experience with Natwest has been pretty appalling for a variety of reasons, so rather than explain all the services which they offer (which 99% of the time are exactly the same as every other bank), I'm going to highlight the problems we have had with them so you can judge ... I have had a mixed experience with NatWest, and as with other reviewers here the only reason I don't drop them immediately and bank elsewhere is because the 'current economic situation' has caused banks to act as if you've applied for a £100,000 loan instead of just a current account. I applied for a student account with them in 2005 ... Read the complete review

Ever since being 16 years old my number one bank account has been with Natwest. It started of all well with them and it still all remains good to this day. At the point when I turned 18 they gave me a special webcam for free after opening up a student account with them plus they gave me a free five year rail card also! For students this offer ... I have banked with Natwest since I was about 11 (so a good 13 years now) and to be perfectly honest, I think the only reason I've stuck with them is because I have a bad credit rating but they will help me out if I twist their arm as they know my history because I've been with them so long. I originally joined Natwest as they were the only bank ... Read the complete review

I chose NatWest for my student account as they had a branch on my university campus and because of the freebies they offered. In order to receive these freebies (such as a railcard worth £120, a free memory stick and a number of online discounts) I had to set up the account online. I also had to use online banking and not have paper bank ... Read the complete review

Last year I opened a student bank account with them because if you do so you can get a free rail card for the next 5 years! That's saving something like 120 pounds!!! That alone is 100% worth going with them. The added reasons were that they are very well known and easily accessible in pretty much everywhere in England. As I applied ... Read the complete review

I have been a customer of NatWest since I was 13 - so more than half my life - and up until recently have never had any major problems with them, but recently they've been starting to irk me just a little in a way that is making me, one of the most apathetic people around, seriously considering switching banks. ... I was a member of National Westminster banks since I was very young and had a child's account. As I grew older this progressed into an adult's account. Once I had had my first full time job for a couple of years I went into the branch and asked for an upgrade from a solo bank card (which I found quite restrictive in it's use as not many places ... I have held a NatWest account for 11 years. I went with NatWest purely because there's a family history and not because of reputation or similar. I have had both good and bad experiences with NatWest throughout this time and the service has ranged from excellent to poor. Here are some examples: The good: my switch card was cloned and ... As you all may know the National Westminster bank is now owned by the Royal bank of Scotland after aquiring them in 2000. There have been a few scandals surrounding Natwest in the past, mainly the collapse of Blue Arrow. That is Blue Arrow the recruitment agency, where Natwest covered up hundreds of millions of pounds of failed stock! ... Read the complete review

Natwest, where loyalty stands for nothing! I have been with Natwest for almost 2 thirds of my life now, and over the years have opened up quite a few other accounts with banks offering my various incentives to do so, but have never closed my original accounts with Natwest. They have been my family's bank for many years, for why I cannot ... Read the complete review

I have banked with Natwest (Part of the Royal Bank Of Scotland Group PLC) since I was fifteen. I was attracted by the free gifts, I think they were offering a third off a young persons railcard and some free music downloads. I also opened an internet ISA as at the time (about four years ago) it had the best rate of interest. I really ... Read the complete review

My daughters & I have been with the Halifax for donkeys years now & we found them OK but not brilliant &, to be honest I don't think they helped my older daughter as much as they could when she was a student. Going to the Halifax was never a pleasure as there always seem to be queues at all times of day & whichever branch we go to. ... Read the complete review

My wife and I have current accounts with both Natwest and Halifax and regularly use both banks, our local branches being in Crystal peaks in Sheffield. NatWest's branch always seems to be the classier of the two - it's much nicer decorated inside with marble counter surfaces compared to Halfax's rather poorer wood effects everywhere. ... I've been a customer with Natwest for years now and have never really experienced any major problems. I find the customer services very helpful and attentive and if they don't seem to know an answer to a question they WILL find out and get back to you. Well i've always had an account with Natwest since i was little and never really had any problems to be fair. I became a account holder with Natwest 2 years ago now when I became a student, previously I was with Barclays who did a rather poor student account, I switched to Natwest who offered a free railcard (which i've never used) as well as free over draft for 3 years, to add to this they will put me on a graduate account when I, well, graduate which ...
