Premium Review Natwest Bank: Gnat Worst (357 words)
by - written on 20/08/02 (Useful, 459 readings)
Rating:

I hate this institution. I hate them to such a degree that I keep £1.59 in a current account so they have to send me statements, cards, payslip books and cheque books. I see no reason why I should do GNat Worst the favour shutting my account. I reckon this costs them more than my 'investment'. And I am not going to go away. Before ...  Read the complete review

I am writing to say a big thumbs up for Nat West's new product, Fast Pay. I signed up to the FastPay system when I came across it on a freebie site to get some freebies but soon found myself using it quite often. (£1,000 off food at various restaurants across the UK per person.) It lets you to transfer money to other people on the scheme ...  Read the complete review

I had a good account with Natwest for over a year but like most good things there's always a bad side. That came when my account got moved to the next bracket. My interest rate went from 4% p/a to 0.1%! What good is 0.1%? I don't even pay tax on that so I guess I'm lucky... Natwest also neglected to pay my ...  Read the complete review

Natwest have recently launched a new accounting system, its easy to use cheap and quick. It incorpates the use of the mobile phone, so you can be updated instantly when your account has been credited. My opinion on the system is that it is excellent and saves me a reasonable amount of money and time when using the online auctions as I ...  Read the complete review

Just looking through the summaries of the opinions on National Westminster Bank urged me to write myself. I agree, I agree, I agree. I too used to stick up for Natwest when all of my friends urged me to join other banks. This is because I genuinely thought that they provided a good service. Looking back now I wonder why it took me so long ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Natwest Bank: too big to know you (225 words)

I moved to the uk 2 years ago. I picked Natwest because a relative had been using them for decades. They were also one of the big banks, and I thought they would be good. Right from the start I encountered several difficulties. The person who took my application told me I'd be approved for a credit card, when in reality (possibly due to data ...  Read the complete review

DO NOT LOSE YOUR CARD, THE TELEPHONE BANKERS WILL TELL YOU THEY HAVE ISSUED ANOTHER, THEN AFTER 1 WEEK TELL YOU ITS IN THE POST, THEN WHEN IT DOES NOT ARRIVE YOU GO INTO THE BANK AND THEY HAVENT EVEN SENT ONE OUT. Well it's not when you are in credit! My partner experienced some financial difficulties last year. In my opinion and recent experience the natwest have to be just about the most unhelpfull and anti-customer high street bank today! Having held a personal account with them for 4 years , using the account for paying wages in and various direct debits out , like I`m sure millions of other people do with their own accounts! I decided I would like to ...  Read the complete review

Having slated Lloyds TSB (see opinion under their heading) I thought I would pick up the story with my expirences with Natwest. I was a little wary of banks after my expirence with Lloyds so shopped around VERY carefully. I went with Natwest for ease of accessibility (There is a branch out in the sticks we call home and opposite my work ...  Read the complete review

I have a student account with NatWest; when students start at university they look at all the local high street banks to see which is giving away something to suit them with their student account. Four years ago when I was looking around, NatWest had the best deal with £50 cash in your student account when you open it. This is fairly standard now ...  Read the complete review

As i have read, Natwest has an appeal with the younger age group. This may be due to the offer of a debit card at a young age as it was for me. Untill the age of 18 i found them to be a great bank, i would rarely wait for longer then a few minutes to be served while my friend would sometimes wait foe or 10 minutes. The banking was free and i was ...  Read the complete review

A Natwest customer for over 20 years. Constantly I ask myself the question "is it me?" Service is non-existent and I am now on first name terms with one of the Chairman's lackey's (not bad for a personal customer!) Some prime examples: 1. My wallet was stolen - I advised Natwest and they cancelled my Switch ...  Read the complete review

Natwest has made quite a lot of improvements to its online banking over the last 12months, originally I had online banking with Natwest and Barclays. Barclays did seem to have the better online banking facility 12 months ago but Natwest has pulled its socks up and it’s really easy to use now and very interactive. I could not get by now ...  Read the complete review

I opened a Natwest Account because I needed a loan for my studies to pay for most of the course fees etc. Natwest were the only bank which catered for Legal Practice Course funding so, naturally I went along with them.
