INTRODUCTION TO NATWEST ONLINE

I have been banking with NatWest for over thirteen years and currently hold four different accounts, a personal current account, a joint current account, ISA savings account and lastly a business account.

Having to maintain and keep track of these account started to become very hard as I have very little spare time to actually get to the bank to do the various day to day things like, paying cash in, paying bills, transferring money and managing the accounts.

At this point I didn't know if I was coming of going so when the online and telephone banking became available I jumped at the chance as this would be much easier for me to handle the finances.

THE SITES BENEFITS FOR BOTH NEW & EXSISTING CUSTOMERS

The NatWest online website www.natwestonline.co.uk is not only available to potential customers to find out about opening accounts, applying for loans or mortgages but it is also there to help existing customers manage their finances with very little effort.

For new customers Natwest online offer you the chance to open accounts with as little fuss as possible, you can apply and get all of your information sent via email. The best thing about opening the accounts online is the fact that Natwest do everything for you, they contact your old bank and move all of you direct debits across to the new account, so you don't have to do a thing as Natwest take care of everything.

For existing customers Natwest offers online banking, where you can keep track of all of your Natwest accounts within the one online account, which makes it easier when transferring cash between accounts, canceling and adding direct debits and banking queries, all at the little click of your mouse.

ONLINE BANKING

Online banking through the site is only available to existing Natwest customers, but you have to sign up for the online and telephone banking account before you can gain access to your accounts.

Signing up is very quick and simple, you just click on the purple online banking link on the right hand side of the site and sign up by inputting your account number and sort code then you will be issued with a customer number.

After this is compete you will then gain temporary access to your online accounts and a permanent access code will be sent through the post to you can finalise you account indefinitely, every time you log in to the temporary account you will be asked to finalise the account details but this can only be done when you password arrives in roughly 3-7 working days.

YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT

To gain access to you account you will need to enter your unique pin and passwords every time you wish to review your account, these pins and passwords are the ones you create for yourself when you set up the account.

It is so simple to log in but you must enter you details correctly as you only have two attempts to get it right, if you fail the login you will have to re-validate your account all over again. This can be a pain as it can take up to a week to get the passwords sent through the post, but at least the bank take it seriously and are doing everything to fight against fraud.

The first page you hit is your account summery, here you will have a list of all of the account you hold with the branch. To get the details of a certain account is very easy you just hover over the account and you will get a list of the most recent activity on that particular account.

I tend to use this to transfer cash from one account to another, as it is instant and I can do it in the comfort of my own home.

Another bonus is the fact that I can view my annual accounts with is fantastic as many banks charge you to get that information as they only tend to do a three month summery and not a yearly one.

The other benefits include bank and credit card statements, recent transactions, and options to make and set up payments via single payment or direct debit methods.

If you want you can opt not to receive paper statement every month and get the paper free opinion online, I personally get the paper and online statements as I like to have them as proof of where the money has gone and I am far too lazy to print them out, so as it does not cost anything I get the paper one sent as well.

MY OPINION

I am so happy with my online banking account, banking is so easy and hastle free now that I don't have to join massive queues of people in the bank on a Monday morning just to pay a few bills and move money around to other accounts.

I only go to the bank one a week now to pay in cash to my business account and this has also become hassle free as I just throw it in to the quick drop postbox, so basically the Natwest staff in my local branch have become basically nonexistent as they don't benefit me at all now.

At first I was hesitant on doing my banking online as you hear so many horror stories about fraud, but I am so glad I bit the bullet and went ahead as the site is perfectly secure and I trust it completely.

Over the past few years in have found that the online banking has saved me so much time and I am a completely satisfied customer, now that I have tried online banking I will never revert to my old ways. So I am happy to say online banking is here to stay.

I recommend this to any Natwest customers, if you have not tried this out I strongly advise you do I promise you will not be disappointed.

Summary: I don't know what i would do without it now i have had a taste....

Online banking is so easy, I don't know why more people don't do it. Like you said-it really pays to beat the queues at the bank just to pay a bill or whatever.

I'd be lost without online banking. How did we ever manage without it? Great review
